Models Own Nail Polish Collection

Hi Everyone,

So this nail polish collection blogpost is well overdue. It is the second of my nail polish collection Blogpost's, this one being my  Models own nail polish collection.

First of all my first EVER nail art pens were from Models Own, and I purchased them in October 2012 when my nail art craze first started. I only bought black and white as I thought i'd start of basic and see where it gets me.

You can buy Models Own nail polish's from Boots- £5, or from the Models Own website, people may see this as being slightly steep for nail polish however the bottles are 14ml, as apposed to Rimmel nail polishes being only 8ml. I tend to buy them when they are on offer in Boots (everyone loves a good bargain.)
These are very good quality polishes,I have found them to glide really nicely onto my nails, and after two coats are completely opaque.

From left to right the colours are; Snowflakes, Buff Pink, Banana Split, Strawberry Tart, Lilac Dream, Nude Beige, Indian Ocean, Dream Stream, Purple Imperial, Blooming Pink and Blizzard.

My absolute favourite is 'Lilac Dream,' this may be due to the fact that I am obsessing over the colour lilac at the moment.. But nevertheless I love it!
Another favourite is the beautiful colour 'Indian Ocean' which is a stunning irridescent blue/pink shade, and it looks amazing as a topcoat over any colour just for something a little different.

A nail polish collection that really exciteed me when they were released were the scented collection; I picked up Banana Split, and Strawberry Tart. The polish did smell for a good 2 days, and it reminded me of my junior school days when everyone had smelly gel pens....and before you all ask, yes, I have spent hours sat sniffing my nails and recieving funny looks.

I do however as any nail polish enthusiast have one that I regret buying, which unfortunatly is Snowflake. This polish is absolutely beautiful with big chunks of foil like glitter pieces in it. I was so excited to try this polish when I purchased it back in January, but unfortunatly I found it to be really gloopy. Gloopy nail polish is one of my pet hates. I have tried so hard to use this as it does look amazing as a topcoat, however it does not dry properly and after a couple of hours they are all smudged and I have to remove my polish.

So there we have it, my second nail polish collection. I hope this blogpost encourages you to go and try Models Own polishes (but please don't nab them all.)

Pampering my Feet

Hey Everyone.

So for the past 4 weeks now i've been going running twice a week, the odd bike ride here and there, as well as taking part in pilates. Of course I realised that I am being awfully cruel to my poor feet, and this was a perfect excuse to go shopping and care for my little feet.

Don't worry, i'm not actually going to show you my feet =]

Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue - £9
Peppermint Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub - £7
Foot File Spoon - £6
(All Body Shop)

The first product i tried was the 'Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue.' I actually tried a sample of this product and fell in love.... I'm definitly blaming this on the fact that it smells like peppermint as mmmmmm I love that smell. As soon as I was becoming dangerously close to finishing my sample I purchased it, as well as the 'Foot File Spoon' as the lady insisted that it was vital to have either the scrub or the foot file.

I have to say I am normally very against pedicure products because in the past I havn't noticed a difference after using them, but after using both these products along side one another for two weeks my view has changed. I absolutely had to go back and try the 'Peppermint Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub' too, and now i've got myself a full routine.

So after i've done some excercise I have a shower where I apply the foot scrub and rub it gently all over my feet, focusing my attention on my heels where my skin is more rough. I then wash it off and apply normal body wash and give my feet a gentle file. (Originally I was more harsh with my filing but now i don't need to.) After i've had my shower I apply my Foot Rescue, and my feet feel pampered, refreshed and ready for bed/ the day ahead.

So there we have it.. I never thought i'd have a pedicure routine but i'm glad that I do.

Cleansers Cleansers Cleansers..

Hey Everyone,

So recently I've been searching for cleanser as part of my skincare regimen. I have normal skin, I get the odd spot every month or so, but other than that I have clear skin. My skin is also a little sensitive so I have to be careful with what I put on my face.

The first thing I did was searched online, research is the absolute key. I spend hours and hours reading reviews on products, watching youtube reviews on products, trying to find something that would work nicely on my skin.

The first cleanser that i wanted to try was Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, Hot Cloth Cleanser. I bought mine from the Liz Earle Counter at John Lewis. Mine came in a little travel bag, with two muslin cloths, I paid £14.75. This is a fantastic cleanser, it was refreshing, and left my skin feeling very soft. I can definitely imagine myself repurchasing this product, however the reason that I decided to keep looking was because I wasn't that keen on the thickness of the cleanser as its very creamy, and I felt a little clogged up still after I washed it off.

The second cleanser I tried out was the Cult Emma Hardy Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm. I actually bought a small 15ml tub of this off ebay as I wanted to give it a trial run, as the price for the 100ml tub is a whopping £34. My initial thoughts when I first used this cleanser was "Omg this is amazing, I am definitely going to buy the big tub." After a few days this opinion completely changed and now I am so glad that I bought the tub from ebay, as unlike the majority of reviews online, I did not like this cleanser. I found this cleanser to be very oily and it was worse than the Liz Earle in that it made my face feel very clogged up, and I actually got a few spots when using this cleanser. After realising that I didnt like this cleanser I looked at more reviews and actually found that a few people with sensitive skin have commented that it was too harsh on their skin. I have to say I was relieved when I read that other people didn't like it too. I really did try to like it, but unfortunately, it just wasnt for me. I ended up passing this onto my sister so that she could try it.

I then did some more research, and having recently visited the Origins counter at Boots I thought I'd look into some origins cleansers. There were a few that caught my eye, and I decided to go into Boots and speak to someone about what would be good for my skin. She actually recommended a few to me, but after reading many reviews on the Checks and Balances Frothy facewash (£17), I decided that this was the one for me. I was sold based on two factors, 1/ she said it would make my face feel 'squeaky clean', and 2/ it smells like peppermint. The only downside to this facewash is that you cannot use it on your eyes as its too concentrated, but other that that I LOVE this cleanser. The lady wasn't exaggerating with how clean this cleanser makes your skin. When I use this cleanser my face feels so so clean, and after toning and popping on my moisturiser I feel refreshed and clean.

By the end of the summer I am wanting to have sorted out my skin care regimen, so we shall see if the origins facewash stays as my cleanser <3
If you are looking for new skincare, of any sort I would highly recommend you to research thoroughly before buying anything, especially if a large chunk of money is involved.

Thankyou for reading =]

"On Wednesdays We Wear Pink"

Hey Everyone,

So who dosn't like mean girls and mean girls quotes. I have noticed on Instagram that people have been doing the onwednesdayswewearpink hashtag, so i thought i'd use the idea as a blogpost idea, i'm going to try to do this once a month on a Wednesday with different things.. as I do own plenty of pink. I decided to do it with nail polish this month, and here we are!! =]

I didn't actually realise how many pale pinks I had until i lay them all on my bed to photograph them.. Whoops, but hey I can never have enough pinks in my life.. The models own one (4th from the left) also smells like strawberries which is a bonus!! =]

If I had to pick my favourite I think it would have to be the Barry M 'Pink Iridescent' which is 3rd from the left. This is my second bottle of the stuff. It looks amazing over any nail polish. I particularly love pairing it with a hot pink/ bright pink if i'm feeling having 'Barbie nails'

My Current Haircare Favourites.

So back on new years eve, I decided that I really wanted to have long hair again, as my hair has been short for far too long now.
By the age of 21 though my hair had become dry and damaged, especially on my ends. I decided that some of my birthday and Christmas money would be spent on proper hair care, to improve the quality of my hair and thus resulting in my hair being able to grow.

These are the product that I purchased.

 Moroccan Oil - £11
S-Factor 'Serious' Conditioner - £18
S- Factor Smoothing Lusterizer - £8
S- Factor Flat Iron Shine Spray Heat Defence - £9
S-Factor- Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner - £25

The main problem I faced was having dry hair. I therefore needed products that would bring moisture into my hair. The first thing that I purchased was my Moroccan Oil.

I have to say I love this Oil, i had been using Lee Stafford Argon Oil previously but didn't really notice much of a difference. My Moroccan Oil however is a godsend. I have now had it for exactly 6 months (that works well) and I have noticed a massive improvement in my hair especially the ends of my hair, which is where i focus my application.
I use it on wet hair before i blow dry it, then also as a finishing products after I've done my hair. All in all This product gets 10/10 and as I'm nearing the end of my bottle I'm looking to order the larger one next =]

The Next product on my list was to get a deep conditioner. I did a little research, and for a great price I bought this huge tub. I had heard about TIGI before but i only knew about the Bed Head Products. This S Factor range is what Sprung out to me but I wanted to try the deep conditioner before buying more products.
This deep conditioner smells AMAZING, it smells like strawberries and cream, but has a slight mint smell too i think. I use it once or twice a week, depending on the condition of my hair, and leave it in whilst using my Soap and Glory Breakfast Scrub, and my Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel, sometimes if I have the time I'll come out of the shower for a bit and leave it in for 15 minutes. But again only if i have the time. While I'm rinsing it out i can feel the effect, my hair feels smooth, and silky, and so hydrated.

I Fell in love with this Conditioner and soon after bought the Smoothing Lusterizer, and Heat Defence spray, these were an add on, as i wanted to try some new things in my routine, and these were the same brand and were not as pricey as I expected. The heat defence is an obvious choice, I really like this one as it's quite oily so I put it in my hair before blow drying so it dries the product into my hair. I can then go on to straighten my hair.
The Smoothing Lusterizer however I have a love hate relationship with, as sometimes I love putting it on my wet hair, other times I feel that I may be putting too much product in my hair. I try to only use this if I haven't used my deep conditioner. Also again these both smell amazing!!

Finally i ordered the salon size Shampoo and Conditioner in the Smoothing range, as watched a review from Zoella on YouTube and thought I'd also give them a go. These smell even better than the deep conditioner, again they smell like strawberries and cream, but this time without the mint. I have found after using these in my routine my hair does feel smooth, and i look forward to having a shower as I love love love the smell of them both.

All in all I love my hair routine, I have been using them all now for the past 4-5 months and I have noticed that my hair is much more hydrated and doesn't snap, also I have noticed a considerable drop in the amount of split ends that I've been getting. Hopefully this will mean that the next time i go to the hair dressers she/ he won't be cutting of too much of my hair.
Most importantly other people have been commenting on how full, healthy and soft my hair looks, which always makes me smile.

Sorry today's post has been super long, but i hope you have enjoyed it, and it's helped anyone who has dry brittle hair like i did.

Essie Nail Polish Collection

Hey Everyone,

So as you all know i absolutely love love love nail polish. I have a definite problem which grew last summer, and has not stopped. My nail polish collection is rather large so i thought i'd split it up into sections, and the way i wanted to do it was by brands.

So my first collection as the title says is Essie.

The best thing i think about Essie polishes is the brush its a flat brush as you can see and so fans out over your nail so in one stroke (or one and a bit) your nail is painted.

From left to right the colours are; Sew Psyched, Bikini So Teeny, Orange It's Obvious, Off The Shoulder, Pink Diamond, Tea & Crumpets, Fiji, Adore-a-ball.
My absolute favourite is Pink Diamond, it was the first Essie polish I bought, and I do NOT regret it.
It's a beautiful shimmery light pink.

At £7.99 a pop from boots and superdrug they are a little on the pricey side, but as a treat every now and again, or when you see a colour which just screams out at you I think it's okey!!
The most recent one i bought is Tea and Crumpets. I don't know how to describe this one other than saying its a shimmery pale rose gold colour, I adore it as it matched my skin tone really well, it's nice and subtle and so would be a good colour to wear at work.

My only colour I regret is Fiji, i was so upset as everyone seems to love this colour, but it just dosn't sit well with me. I find it too pale, and i always want to put something on top of it. I have to say i have only worn this once which for £7.99 is definitly not worth it..

As a whole Essie is one of my favourite brands, and i hope that reading this blogpost you will try one out and fall in love as much as i have..

February Glossy Box

Hey Everyone,

So i signed up to the 3 month subscription for Glossybox just to give it a go, and see if I would enjoy the little package of goodies.

First thing is first, the packaging is amazing. I now use this months box to store my make-up brushes because I love it so much. It's a different design to normal, as it was the valentines day special. It is also a really sturdy and thick box, so i was already pretty impressed. =]

When i opened up the box the products were rapped in tissue paper with a ribbon wrapped around it. (so exciting) This is what was inside my box....

I know this sounds really bad but the lollipop made me the most excited, and it was delicious!! Haha.

In my box i recieved :
Micabella Cosmetics- Mineral Blush Powder
Voulez-Vous- Warming Body Oil (Pina Colada)
MEMEME Cosmetics- FatCat Lengthening Mascara
Helen E Cosmetics- Moisturizing Lipstick
Narciso Rodriguez- For Her L'Eau

In my honest opinion, I didn't really like the lipstick, it says its moisturising, but it just dried my lips out.
The mascara is very good, and the perume tester smells AMAZING!!
I havn't tried the warming oil yet, I am abit fussy with these kind of products, because i have sensitive skin, but i may try a little.
I also havn't used the blush powder yet, but it looks good, so we shall see =]

Valentines Nails

Hey Everyone,

So i know this is a little late for posting my valentines day nails, but better late than never... right?

I used
Essie- Pink Diamond
Barry M- Silver Glitter
Models Own- Blizzard.

This design is really easy to do, although it can get a bit time consuming. The photo dosn't really show the full effect of the glitter, but the Models Own glitter really does make the design much more sparkely.

Massive Luxury Make-up Haul

Right firstly I need to say that I don't normally do this, and the products bought, were bought on two seperate occasions.

So the first haul was my first ever trip were rather than going in Boots or Superdrug I went into House Of Fraser.
This is where I bought my Clinique set, which included a full size mascara, an eye liner pencil (only about a centimetre smaller than the full size one) and a little pot of eye cream. It also had a little purple mesh make-up bag in it, perfect for my handbag.

The benefit palette 'Go tropicoral' was bought instead of the alternative of just buying the pot of blush, because it included a highlighter, cheek and lip tint, and lipgloss. So my logic was that if i liked the product I could buy the single pot of blush, and if i liked any other things in it I could get them too.

The next shopping trip ( a few days later) I walked past the Bobbi Brown stand and really wanted another colour blush, and i'd been looking online at some of the produces and they looked lovely. The one I ended up getting was The 'Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks' this was in the shade pale pink. I love this shade, I apply a very small amount using a foundation brush to the apples of my cheeks and it looks so lovely on my skin tone.
I absolutely adore my MAC lipstick, I love lipstick I finally went into MAC wanting a lipstick, I wanted to get a slightly pinky nude and the lady helped me out and picked me out a few shades, this one being my favourite. It's in the shade Lovelorn which is a lusterizer.

My real techniques brushes I got from superdrug as I wanted nice new clean brushes for my new make-up. These were a little pricey, but they are so super soft that I definitly don't regret buying them!!
I also jumped on the crazy band waggon and got myself the Collection 2000 concealer in shade 3. ( i know that isn't luxury, but i love it.) And finally my Essie nail polish, I got this is 'Pink Diamond' I have loved this shade for so long, and finally got it for myself
( I used this polish for my valentines nails, so I will show this in my next post. =] )

Lots of Shopping.

Sorry I havn't posted in a while. I don't even have a proper excuse, i've just been being a bit lazy.
I have however done alot of shopping, so I have a few goodies to share with you.
Firsty, I went home last week, and of course ended up going shopping with my sister, purchasing only a few products.. but expensive..

Most exciting part of this shopping trip was definitly my Ipad mini!! I LOVE it!!, I also got some new UGGs, the classic short light brown, and a jack wills cardi, which was in the sale. =]

Right, on friday I went to birmingham, on a little shopping treat as i'd just finished all of my uni assignments, I did go a little bit crazy (don't even regret it) =]
here is what I bought.

Most of this was from forever 21, I absolutley adore that shop, and because I don't have one back at home, I always go a tad overboard. As you all know I also love my nail polish, so I got a few more, some cute jewellery, and a little cath kidson dish to put my rings in.
I tried to stick to nice pastels, as spring/summer is fast approaching.

So in the past couple of weeks I have gone a bit crazy with shopping, but it was totally worth it <3

Spring Nails

Yesterday I was super stressed out with an assignment that I had to do for Univerversity.
So I told myself that as a reward I could do my nails. =D
This worked as I managed to finish my work by 5pm!! I was so imressed, so I got out my nail varnishes and started working on my nails.
This is how they turned out.
The lilac gems were one of the packages that I was waiting for last week, and this is the first time that i've used my gem wheel.
I got them from amazon, they are the perfect size, originally I thought they were very small, but I soon realised that they were perfect.

I used
Barry M - Matt White
Barry M- Lilac
Barry M- Strawberry
Aundrea fulerton - Pink nail art pen
Lilac gems

It really didn't take me very long, and I absolutely love looking at my nails with this mani on, esspecially when im doing assignment after assignment.

Dressing For The Snow

This weekend has been a bit of a crazy one. But the best thing I have to say was the SNOW!!

I love the snow, but only when I am warm inside and I have a hot chocolate in my hands, I do go and play in it but I like to be able to get all snuggely and warm as soon as I want to.
This weekend I ventured out with my friends to go to the cinema and Nandos, so not only did I want to look nice, but I had to dress warm too.

This is the outfit that I ended up choosing. Please excuse the mess, my Uni room is far too small for my liking =]

Dress- Select £12
Jumper- New Look (mens) £19.99
Shoe boots- New Look (9-15) £19.99
Necklace- New Look £5.99

I wore my big coat, scarf and gloves in order to make sure I was toastie and warm. My legs were quite cold but apart from that I hardly felt the cold.

Last Weeks Hair Purchases

Last week I finally decided to buy a curling wand, I have wanted one for AGES but i couldn't find one that I wanted, and for a price that I was willing to pay.
I prefer thick wavey curls rather than tight ringlets, i was originally looking into the Tony and Guy jumbo wand, which is £20 in superdrug, boots, and i think they are in argos too. I had the Tony and Guy wand in my hand ready to buy them, when my flatmate lucie grabbed my arm and dragged me over to the sale section in boots, where she pointed out a Lee Stafford set for just £15. I quickly changed my mind to the Lee stafford wand, not only was it cheaper, it was PINK!! The box also contained lots of extra's, including; a comb, 4 clips, a heatproof travel bag, and 3 pink stay put rollers. So it was definitly worth the money.

This kit is called 'My Wavy Baby Hair Kit' Full price £30.
I loved the curles it made as they were nice and chunky, just how i like them. The only thing that im having to get used to is that there is no clip to keep your hair secure on the wand, so you have to hold the tip of your hair to keep it from moving.

I also jumped onto the bandwaggon and got myself a tangle teezer. The main reson that i never bought one until now was the pretty steep price tag just for a little brush. I got mine from Boots for £10.99

You can't really tell by the picture but it's purple and got little bits of silver glitter in it.
THIS IS THE BEST BRUSH EVER!! I do not regret spending that much money at all!! I normally hate brushing my hair as it snapped into my old brush and it hurt to brush my hair, but now I find it hard to put this brush down. It dosnt hurt at all, and my hair dosnt break off anymore. It's also shaped to fit in the palm of your hand.
I cannot express how much I love this brush, I only wish that the pink one was not as bright a pink (as its a neon pink) because I do prefer the colour pink to purple.
If you don't yet have a tangle teezer I fully recommend you to get one, you will not buy a regular brush again, I know I won't.

1st Delivery Arrived =]

Hey Everyone !!

So one of my packages did end up coming today, and it was my nail striping tape. My goodness it is so fiddely to use. I did end up using it to do some lovely nail art, however my right hand ended up going wrong so i chenged my nails, then i decided against them too, so i have ended up with galaxy nails, which i adore.

Here is my nail art with the striping tape, I know its not that dareing, but I wanted to get the hang of using the tape before doing anything super complex.
My second attempt at doing my nails did look nice, but I decided to take it off because it wasnt as good as I wanted it to be as I didnt think the colours looked blended enough.

Finally my nails ended up staying like this...

I have also shown how i did it, normally I would also add a bit of bright pink to it after the grey but for some reason I missed it out.

So yeh, there you have it. my first nail blog. hope you liked it!!
